General Dentist

A general dentist is your primary care dental provider. This dentist diagnoses, treats, and manages your overall oral health care needs, including gum care, root canals, fillings, crowns, veneers, bridges, and preventive education.

Pediatric Dentist

Pediatric dentists are dedicated to the oral health of children from infancy through the teen years. They have the experience and qualifications to care for a child’s teeth, gums, and mouth throughout the various stages of childhood.

Dental Hygienist

Dental hygienists are preventive oral health professionals who have graduated from an accredited dental hygiene program.

In performing the dental hygiene process of care, the dental hygienist assesses the patient’s oral tissues and overall health determining the presence or absence of disease, other abnormalities and disease risks. They develop a dental hygiene diagnosis based on clinical findings, formulate evidence-based, patient-centered treatment care plans, perform the clinical procedures outlined in the treatment care plan, and educate patients regarding oral hygiene and preventive oral care. The hygienist also evaluates the outcomes of educational strategies and clinical procedures provided.

Clinical procedures typically include removal of plaque, calculus and stains from the teeth, exposing and processing dental X-rays, applying cavity-preventive agents, such as fluorides and pit and fissure sealants and administering antimicrobial agents.
